Doing and Looking Good
Tea Leoni, known for movie roles in Spanglish and Fun with Dick and Jane, juggles offscreen time between home life with husband David Duchovny and kids Madeline [sic] West, 7, and Kyd Miller, 4, and traveling as Goodwill Ambassador for the U.S. Fund for UNICEF, which her grandmother founded. But wherever she is, clean, healthy skin, sheer color, and a touch of scent are the basics she needs to face whatever the day throws her way. “I’ve learned to sneak in great hair,” she says. “After I wash it, I put it in a high ponytail, then hop in the car. When I get where I’m going, I take out the elastic and I’ve got a root lift that you usually only get with a blow dryer.” She applies the keep-it-simple solution to her makeup too. “It has to be easy - and look natural,” she says. ” I don’t like to fuss.” Here, some of her fast fixes.

Lash Logic
“I’m usually happy using drugstore mascara, but lately I’ve been wearing Clarins Pure Curl Mascara in Pure Black 01 [$22; sephora.com]. It gives my lashes that lush, wet look, like I just came out of the pool.”

Profit Sharing
“For years, I’ve donated my fee for DiMODOLO jewelry ads to the U.S. Fund for UNICEF. But designing these UNICEF pendants lets me take it a step further, now 100 % of the net proceeds go to the Fund.” (18K, $950; with diamonds, $2,950; dimodolo.com).

Preferred Pucker
“I really love the Sonia Kashuk Lip Palette in Berries [$12.99; target.com], not only because I can pick it up while getting stuff for the house, but I like the fresh colors too. And I have to wear a stain. David doesn’t like gooey, gloppy glosses at all.”

Rosy Cheeks
“I use stains becuase they stay on all day. LORAC Sheer Wash Cheek Tint in Sheer Magic [$17.50; drugstore.com] goes on with a roll-on applicator. I can apply sunscreen over it and it doesn’t smear or come off.”

Pacing Pretty
“When I need to recharge, I go for a walk. My skin is sensitive, so I always wear sunscreen. When I want a glow, I reach for Murad Self-Tanner SPF 15 ($30; drugstore.com).”

Wonder Jar
“I used Egyptian Magic All-Purpose Healing Skin Cream [$30; egyptianmagic.com] for my kids’ diaper rashes, then realized it’s a great moisturizer for heels and elbows, plus it calms frazzled ends on my hair.”

Grime Fighter
“At home with the kids, I always seem to have something on my face - like jelly. I look for cleansers with tea tree oil, which is really antiseptic. Right now I’m using Thoroughly Clean Face Wash by Desert Essense [$8.95; vitaminshoppe.com]. And I like the feel of a toner with rosewater, such as Burt’s Bees Rosewater & Glycerin Toner [$12; burtsbees.com].”
