Fashion Issue - Sexy Sitcom Divas (Los Angeles Magazine 1996)
In the late, occasionally
lamented Flying Blind (Fox), ex-model Téa Leoni played the
beautiful Alicia, a sexy and uninhibited Greenwich Village temptress. In
The Naked Truth (an NBC midseason replacement), the actress formerly
known as Rupert Murdoch's Foxiest White Woman plays the beautiful Nora, a
sexy and uninhibited tabloid photographer. "I think she's the best-dressed
woman on TV," says one rival comedic actress. But in so-called real life?
Modesty and humility reigh. "My favorite designer? Oh gosh - Adidas," says
Leoni meekly. "I couldn't dress my way out of a well-lit closet. I think my
body is so odd - I have broad shoulders and a broad rib cage and skinny
legs, and my nickname on the set is Mr. Man-Bottom." To soften this "act
break" between perception and reality, we've photographed Leoni in
sneakily sexy velvet. Admits Leoni grudgingly: "There's something about
the flow of the fabric that - oh, I don't know. I probably look goofy. But
I sure feel good."
