Doing and Looking Good
Tea Leoni, known for movie roles in Spanglish and Fun with Dick and Jane, juggles offscreen time between home life with husband David Duchovny and kids Madeline [sic] West, 7, and Kyd Miller, 4, and traveling as Goodwill Ambassador for the U.S. Fund for UNICEF, which her grandmother founded. But wherever she is, clean, healthy skin, sheer color, and a touch of scent are the basics she needs to face whatever the day throws her way. “I’ve learned to sneak in great hair,” she says. “After I wash it, I put it in a high ponytail, then hop in the car. When I get where I’m going, I take out the elastic and I’ve got a root lift that you usually only get with a blow dryer.” She applies the keep-it-simple solution to her makeup too. “It has to be easy - and look natural,” she says. ” I don’t like to fuss.” Here, some of her fast fixes.

Celebs fight Malibu gas facility plan

MALIBU, Calif. — Former James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan and other celebrities gathered Sunday to protest a natural gas facility proposed for a site 14 miles off the Malibu coast.

”We have to use our voices and band together and stop this,” said Oscar winner Halle Berry.

The gathering — also attended by Cindy Crawford, Jane Seymour, Dick Van Dyke and Tea Leoni — was intended to raise awareness about how the energy industry has invested billions to liquefy and ship natural gas across oceans.

There are five facilities proposed for California, with three along the Southern California coastline. One of the world’s largest energy companies, Australian-based BHP Billiton, is seeking to build the terminal off the coast of Malibu and Oxnard. A decision is expected next year.

BHP officials say the terminals would provide a reliable source of low-polluting energy. Opponents say the terminals would not meet clean-air requirements and could be terrorist targets.

Breast cancer affects one in every eight American women. Every eleven minutes breast cancer claims the life of a mother, a daughter, a sister and a friend.

Help raise funds to support promising new research at the USC/Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center, one of 39 comprehensive cancer centers designated by the National Cancer Institute as a leader in cancer prevention and treatment. Michael Press, M.D., Ph.D., co-director of the Breast Cancer Research Program at USC/Norris is investigating molecular genetic alterations in breast cancer and their role in prevention and treatment. Funds will also support the Revlon/UCLA Breast Center. Under the direction of Helena R. Chang, MD, PhD, the research seeks to significantly advance knowledge about breast cancer and to develop new standards for breast cancer care by participating in national trials and cutting-edge studies, including those developed be cancer researchers at UCLA.

Your fund-raising efforts also enable Expedition Inspiration to bring together eminent breast cancer scientists at their annual Medical Symposium. This forum fosters an accelerated exchange of ideas in the field of breast cancer research, thus contributing to the dissemination of important new findings and better treatment options for breast cancer patients.

Oh, David!

David Duchovny mulls over why he likes waking up with a woman: “My favorite moment is staying in bed and watching her walk naked to the bathroom,” he says. “I mean my wife!”

Of course, he’s talking about Tea Leoni, and together they are one of Hollywood’s sexiest couples. Just being away from Leoni for a few days to talk about his new film “Trust the Man” in New York City gives Duchovny a serious case of homesickness.
